The DPG/Wetpixel Masters Underwater Imaging Competition is a long-established and widely respected contest that celebrates the splendor of the oceans and the challenging art of underwater photography and video. The competition is organized by world-renowned underwater imaging websites DivePhotoGuide (DPG) and Wetpixel.
DPG is an authoritative media publication for underwater photographers and videographers of all levels. Members span across more than 160 countries worldwide. Features include daily news in the world of underwater imaging, diving and all things ocean-related; an in-depth techniques guide; a comprehensive guide to imaging equipment; and wide-ranging feature stories, including inspiring articles on underwater photography and video, expert product reviews, and handy travel guides.
Wetpixel is dedicated to providing the latest information on digital underwater photography and imaging. In 2003, Wetpixel was awarded the prestigious Antibes Festival prize for Best Website, and in 2005, Scuba Diving Magazine dubbed Wetpixel the Editor’s Choice for Best Dive-Related Website. Its community of over 6,000 underwater photographers spans and travels the globe.
Fifteen percent of the proceeds from every competition goes towards marine conservation efforts.
