Announcing the DPG/Wetpixel Masters Underwater Imaging Competition
Posted: Tuesday, January 7, 2020

Wetpixel and DivePhotoGuide (DPG) are excited to announce the rebranding of the Our World Underwater imaging contest. From this year, it has become the DPG/Wetpixel Masters Underwater Imaging Competition.

Since its inception in 2006, the contest has been an opportunity to compete globally with some of the world’s most accomplished underwater photographers and videographers. For those that have placed in the competition, this is a pinnacle achievement and marks an entry into the membership of a very exclusive group of underwater image-makers.

The DPG/Wetpixel Masters Underwater Imaging Competition will incorporate the same high standards, and in order to ensure that these are maintained, we rely on the continuing excellence of our judging panel. For 2020, David Doubilet, Stephen Frink, Erin Quigley, Scott “Gutsy” Tuason, Keri Wilk and Tony Wu will have the unenviable task of choosing the winners among the entries that are submitted.

For those awarded in this year’s contest, there is a prize fund worth over $55,000 dollars, provided by a stellar array of sponsors.

The DPG/Wetpixel Masters Underwater Imaging Competition is open for entries, with a closing date of February 8.

The rebranding does not affect the rules, categories or prizes associated with the competition as they stood previously, and all current submissions are automatically entries in the newly branded contest.
