I began diving in 1992 in my home state of Florida, and within 2 years, I was regularly immersed in the local cave systems. When I did my first cold water dive in Massachusetts a decade later, I fell in love with temperate water environments, which eventually prompted me to pursue a work move to California. In 2006, inspired by two Wetpixel moderators (both incredibly gifted shooters) whom I met in the Solomon Islands, I bought my first compact camera. At the end of 2007, I bit the bullet and sprang for a dSLR. When not diving or writing about diving, I am working as a veterinarian to save up for more gear...or playing the enviable role of underwater model for my husband.
